Antwerp Bruges Day Tour
Day Tour
Antwerp Bruges via Zeeland
The highlight of the journey through the Netherlands is crossing the Zeelandbrug, a feat of engineering stretching over 5 kilometers, making it one of the longest bridges in the country. Completed in 1965, it connects the islands of Schouwen-Duiveland and Noord-Beveland in the province of Zeeland. As you cross the bridge, you’re treated to breathtaking views of the expansive waters of the Oosterschelde. The Zeelandbrug is not just a bridge but a symbol of Dutch ingenuity in water management, standing testament to the country’s relationship with the sea.
Shortly after midday we arrive in Bruges, a medieval city that seems untouched by time. Bruges, often referred to as the Venice of the North, welcomes visitors with its winding canals, cobbled streets, and historic buildings. Your day here is filled with exploration and discovery.
High lights of Bruges
Market Square (Markt): We start our tour at the heart of Bruges. The bustling Markt, surrounded by gabled houses and the imposing Belfry tower, provides an excellent introduction to the city’s rich history.
Belfry of Bruges: If we loke up for it, climb the 366 steps to the top of the Belfry for panoramic views of the city.
Basilica of the Holy Blood: We can visit this basilica that houses a venerated relic: a cloth stained with what is believed to be the blood of Christ.
Choco-Story Museum: Belgium is synonymous with chocolate, and this museum tells the delicious tale of chocolate, from its origins to the present day.
Lunch or typical dinner
In Bruges we offer a lunch in f.e. one of the famous beer breweries, like De Halve Maan.
At the end of the day before departure may be a real Flander dinner, with f.e. Moules frites – mussels cooked in a variety of rich and flavorsome sauces, served with thick Belgian fries (frites in French or frieten in Dutch). Or lunch with shrimp croquettes with a good glass of beer or wine.
Fully customizable
The tour is fully customizable to your wishes, for example a short tour of The Hague with the Peace Palace and the Parliament Building. Or along the windmills of Kinderdijk. In addition to Bruges, we can also visit Antwerp.
Arrival in Amsterdam between 9 – 10 pm.
